Learn Clarinet

Clarinet Students have gone to Royal College of Music in London and Interlochen Arts Academy
Students have attended major festivals, joined youth orchestras, entered conservatories, and pursued professional careers.
Specialization: Orchestral, solo, and chamber repertoire; contemporary music; clarinet doubling; emphasis on artistic well-being and musicianship in society.
Students: High school (college prep), conservatory students, adult amateurs. Currently space for 3–4 ongoing students.
Styles: Classical (core focus), contemporary techniques, crossover encouragement (klezmer, electronic, improvisation).
Teaching is as much about artistry, resilience, and self-awareness as it is about technique.
Transformative music education that fosters critical thinking, community engagement, and a lifelong relationship with music.
Connect mechanics of clarinet playing with psychology of performance. Support student well-being, individuality, and creative risk-taking. Mentor and collaborate to help students find their own artistic voice.
Nearly 20 years as a clarinetist in orchestras, opera, chamber, and contemporary ensembles.
Composition students blend fundamentals (notation, clarity) with cultivating unique artistic identity.
Where design and development happen at the same place, at the same time.

Software: Proficient in Sibelius, Finale, Dorico, DAWs (flexible on student’s tools).
